International Women’s Day: Celebrating the beauty professionals changing the brow game

As a female-founded and led brand, Brow Code is passionate about empowering women to feel confident in their skin.

We believe that confidence unlocks potential, creates opportunities, and changes lives. And when one woman is empowered, she lifts those around her.

But what does empowerment look like in action? In light of International Women’s Day, we spoke to three leading brow professionals who are shaping the future of beauty—women who have turned their passion into purpose, challenged industry norms, and built success on their own terms.

From the importance of inclusivity to the lessons they’ve learned along the way, here’s what they had to say:

How can the beauty industry continue to push for more inclusivity and empowerment for women worldwide?

“The beauty industry has a powerful platform to drive inclusivity and empowerment for women worldwide. By celebrating diversity in all its forms, we can ensure every woman feels seen and valued. True empowerment comes from education and accessibility, providing women with the knowledge and tools to embrace their unique beauty confidently. When beauty is inclusive, it becomes a movement that uplifts and inspires women everywhere.” –– Ruby Kats

“To further inclusivity and empowerment, we can show more diverse representation in campaigns, showcasing various backgrounds, body types and ages of women all over the world. Supporting and promoting women in leadership to change the bias on women in ‘C’ level roles.”  –– Danielle Renee from Bobbie Charles

“Room for more inclusivity and women empowerment is never maxed out, especially in the beauty industry. Women want to see women owners and leaders when they walk into a salon or store—there’s a sense of trust and comfortability. The same goes for seeing all different faces in marketing. When we look for models for our brow content, we include real clients showcasing different brow shapes, colours, and styles. That way, when people scroll our social media, they see familiar faces they can relate to." –– Nina Easho from The W Beauty Bar

Can you share a moment in your career where you felt truly supported and empowered as a woman?

“One of the most empowering moments in my career was when I launched my own business. The overwhelming support from other women in the industry, as well as from clients, family, and friends, made me realise the true power of community. It reinforced the idea that success isn’t just about individual achievements, it’s about uplifting one another, sharing knowledge, and growing together. The encouragement and belief I received from these incredible women reminded me that we’re all stronger when we support one another.” –– Ruby Kats

Representing the beauty industry but also Queensland business when we took out Australia’s Best Clinic at Women Business Championships in 2024. Being in the room with so many executives from all over the country, both female and male - and then being able to stand before them and show them ‘we are all capable’.” –– Danielle Renee from Bobbie Charles

“The moment that my two business partners and I opened our own salon, will always be a moment that I will never forget. I went from being a brow tech who loved what I did so much and always wondered if it would ever take me somewhere, to picking up the keys to our very own salon run solely by women. It was something I never thought I could do and yet here I am two years later with a successful woman ran business. Plus doing it with two other women who are my best friends and inspire me every day; it will forever be a moment I look back on when I’m needing some sense of empowerment and inspiration. Having their support and being surrounded by their talent is what pushes me to keep growing and sharing the feeling.” –– Nina Easho from The W Beauty Bar

What advice would you give to the next generation of women looking to make an impact in the beauty space?

Stay true to your vision and values. The beauty industry is constantly evolving, but authenticity and passion will always set you apart. Build meaningful connections, seek out mentors, and never be afraid to go for it. Your voice, ideas, and perspective matter, and the more we support each other, the greater the impact we can make.”  –– Ruby Kats

“Get around people that inspire you to ‘do the thing!’ The thing that scares you, is always the thing you need to overcome.” –– Danielle Renee from Bobbie Charles

“Advice that I, as well as all the women I work with always give out is be your authentic self always. Now more than ever, one thing that the beauty industry can sometimes lack, is authenticity. It’s so easy to look at what everyone else is doing, see that it works for them and try and do the same thing. But, with social media and constant content it’s easy to forget that the things that work for other people aren’t supposed to work for you anyway. That’s the whole point. A successful brand looks different than others, that’s why it works. I hope the future generation can recognize that and remember that by being authentic you’re already 10 steps ahead of everyone else because you’ll stand out, and people want to see that. Authenticity is impactful and always trending.” –– Nina Easho from The W Beauty Bar
